Week 1: Anticipation and Hope

Advent is fundamentally a season of waiting and anticipation. The focus is on the hope that sustains us as we await the Messiah who manifests in our lives and as we anticipate Christ’s return. Hope is the tension between waiting and fulfillment.

Week 2: Light in Darkness

Christ is the light in our darkness. The advent candles symbolize the darkness being overcome. Even the smallest light represents hope and encouragement. Christ, the ultimate light, is anticipated as we await his coming at Christmas. How do we imitate his ability to bring light?

Week 3: God With Us (Emmanuel)

During this presentation, we focus on the profound mystery and implications of the Incarnation.  The paradox of God becoming human and living among us. Christ’s humble birth challenges our notions of power and glory. The Word became flesh” – Divine humility.
